Hayloft Allium Cernuum Hidcote – 3 x 9cm pots

The nodding, magenta-rose bell-shaped flowers of allium cernuum hidcote are larger, darker, and earlier than the straight species, making this award-winning cultivar one of our favourite discoveries. With a vigorous growth habit and propensity to self-seed readily, this bulbous perennial is wonderfully quick to naturalise. Clumps can either be left to spread naturally or divided in spring to distribute throughout the garden. From narrow, strap-shaped, dark green basal leaves emerge stiff stems, gracefully curving over at the tips to bear masses of pendent flowers. Perfect for mixed borders, rockeries, meadows, and containers. Flowers are borne from june to august and are likely to hum with appreciative pollinators for much of the duration. Prefers fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. H&s: 50cm x 20cm. Hardy perennial.
